Are there any people on here that have started businesses as designers, programmers or illustrators... and the company has grown to the point where you now manage rather than create?

Hi, yes in my case I started as a designer and once the company got bigger clients they made me an art director to manage certain projects and lead the team when your working on that specific project, Its a good feeling but there is a lot moe responsibility involved, make sure that if you become a team leader you leave the personal reltionships on a different layer and stat creating a business relatonships, where designers wont think you are trying to step on them, theres a lot of assholes out there that ar just jealous and that was my case....I respect my creative director and jealousy in this industry will only lead to problems, why dont you use that time to become a better person and employee. That is my advice
Andres.

Good advice Andres.
I have two programmers working for me now. It's a very bizarre feeling compared to 2 years ago when it was all me...
