I'm having trouble accessing the timeline of a movie.swf that has been loaded into the main timeline. Has anyone got any ideas? Cheers.

hmmmm not exactly what I was looking for...

maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but wouldn't you need to open the fla that created the swf?

Are you loading the movie in dynamically?
this.createEmptyMovieClip("newMo... this.getNextHighestDepth());
loadMovie("second.swf",newMov);
buttonClip.onRelease = function(){
newMov.gotoAndPlay(2);
}

(God I hate the spazziness of NT code formatting)

I'm loading a .swf file into a movieclip into the main movie and I want to access the timeline of that .swf.

Right well in that case what I posted should work. You just target the movieclip in the same way that you normally would:
clipholder.gotoAndPlay("whatever...
You might need to check the path to it maybe?
