Hello, everybody!
As some of you may remember, a few of us were brainstorming a Mentalists charity gig in London a while back, and it looks like it's coming to fruition!
http://www.gimmeshelter.org.uk/
The gig is set for the 10th of February, at the Windmill in Brixton.
Now we need a bit of support from anyone who can lend it. We need to print up some flyers to spread the word, and are hoping a quick paypal whip-round here on NT might get the job done.
Moth has kindly offered to start the round off with his paypal balance, and anyone who has a few extra quid/bucks/euros/rupees is warmly invited to join in. Send to his paypal account:
Flyers will run us approximately £120-150. Should we get more than enough money together for flyers, we'll use the remainder for a small t-shirt run. If there's extra, but not enough for the shirts, it'll go straight to Refuge, the benefit charity of the night.
Any other assistance would be great, too. If you're going to any gigs around London over the course of the next three weeks, and wouldn't mind taking some flyers with you to hand out, let us know.
Also, of course, coming to the gig itself on the 10th is a great way to show support.
Thanks!

hey this sounds great. Well done. I'm in.
Is there a direct link i can put in some money to the paypal account??
- moth0
Try this:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/w…The business name will be Mauva.
I've got a balance of about £35 for hopefully that will offset any fees. I happy to donate that to the flyer's.

If you would like to donate to the charity direct, rather than "sponsor" the flyers, do so here: http://www.refuge.org.uk. Mention Gimme Shelter!
- rasko40
why not ask the printers to give the flyers for free/discount in return for a credit?
- moth0
Do you know a printer that would be willing Rasko?
- Baskerville0
As I said all that time ago when all this surfaced originally – I'm happy to abuse out A0 printers here in our studio and print off some large scale stuff for the night, or posters etc.
Also I'm happy to take some flyers to distribute around the place: bars, venues etc.
Just let me know what I can do.

thanks undo!
yeah, baskerville, we were planning on bending your ear about those a0 posters once we've got the artwork finished.
so pleased to hear you're still up for that! thanks!
- rasko40
unfortunately not, but seeing as most printers are wife beating types I think they may be guilted into it.
- vespa0
excellent, good work
great idea about the credit on the flyers, i guess we just need to call a load of places and ask. Para? Moth? (i'm crap at asking for stuff for free)
ooh that would be marvelous baskerville. i wonder whether we have anything that would be high enough res for A0, would probably have to rework it but that could be good. Para could you send me snuggles' files when you get a sec? x
- vespa0
or is the artwork being handled already? marvelous if so
- moth0
snuggles' files is about 700mb.
Vespa - do you want me to finish them off with the line-up - or do you?
- moth0
ok I'll do the artwork Vespa.
Someone else can call printers.Send me any other details that need to go on the flyer.
What time does it kick off?
- moth0
Cheers Undo!
- vespa0
opens at 8.
£5 entry.
could you send us a jpeg of the flyers moth? i don't what details you have on there already...
- UndoUndo0
no problem, hope it helps
- vespa0
ah fanks undo!
hey also there's this mobile-phone-recycling scheme Refuge do, they've sent me a load of bags to take to the gig, would be good to publicise that on the site or flyers, basically they get cash for old mobys
- paraselene0
brilliant! i've got like four old nokias i can bring along.
i'll see if i can ring around to printers this afternoon. super busy today, though. might have to do it on monday.
- moth0
Email send Vespa.
Send me some phone copy for the website too!
- Baskerville0
don't worry too much about things being high res enough for A0. Large scale graphics are rarely ever viewed from close up enough to notice small pixellation.
Also they can be bigger than A0. About 800mm wide or high and then the other dimesion can be much bigger.
At the moment I'm working on a 20m presentation that is made up of 4 5m sections.
