I have been asked to collaborate with a t shirt design company to design a series of t shirts. I will be doing the designs and they have the t shirt patterns and printers to do production. My question is how much should I be charging for the shirt designs, or do I get paid per shirt or should I get paid per design. It will be my name as well as there name on the shirt.
It will then be retailed on there site and in there accounts. currently there items are sold for 35$ and up.
any information would be helpful
thank you

I would charge around 300$ per design or get a royalty deal if you believe in the company and your magic...

you can charge from 500 euros up to a thousand,
depends of the work and how much bitching they do,
its easy
A= base price, in this case 500 euros/dollars/pound
B= bitching = 50 euros/dollars/poundnow do the math, everytime they complain add "B" to "A"
(A+B)= total price

charge 250-500 a shirt, meaning no royalties. I would get that much per shirt design. so if did 5 shirt designs would get
5x500=2,500
if I go with a royalties package, what percentage is a norm?
thank you again for the responses

Royalties are not that great. Go with a flat rate. I'd say the norm of a royalty for t-shirts is about 2.9-4%.
Of course it all depends on what kind of client you're dealing with.
Yep 500 x 5 = 2,500!
Knock those out in a weekend and you've made BANK =p.
