I thought a drop down menu was what you found at the top of your browser. Hence, drop - down.
The first one is doing some MC sliding around and the second is an accordion.
Personally I'd start from scratch with this:

Get the menu to take an XML file or XMLNode as it's input.

well done on getting the fort dunlop work untitled!... we started on that about 4 years ago... but had to tell the agency we were working with on it where to go!
