I'm surprised at all the anti-Thom Yorke solo effort sentiment here. I thought it was brilliant and appropriate continuation to the direction Radiohead have taken since Kid A and proof that he is the engine of their creativity.
Maybe I'm just more of a miserable git than even I had thought.

The Eraser was one of the albums I bought but won't recommend. That said, there are a couple brilliant tracks, but I find that overall it's not very strong work. Same goes for Spank Rock - a couple five star songs and a lot of filler.
