ok so I have a wireless router here at home, which as you can see is working fine (from this mac), but my macbook can't get on the network.. I go to the list of networks, select mine, enter password... it whirrs away then says 'there was an error connecting to the network blah blah'
now I have connected to this previously several times, though after sleep it wouldn't get on automatically, sometimes I would have to restart the router... but now it just wont have it at all, though it can get on a neighbours network..
WTF?
any ideas? Also, the signal shows as nothing even though I'm next to the router..

and you dont see it at all?
what kinda roooooter is it?
- rasko40
its a netgear.
no i see it in the list, but when I select it and enter the pword it asks for, then it tic tocs and comes back with an error.. but it's only happening with the one laptop.. so it's the mac not the router I would assume.

yep, I'm posting using a different mac on the same router, and all seems fine.
I have just found this: http://www.google.com/search?num…
the router uses the new protocol, hmmm I hope this isn't an 'issue'

sounds like your ip address is screwed up. on a pc, you would refresh and renew... not sure what that translates into on a mac?
reboot? try connecting with a network cable? call the apple store?
- rasko40
I'm not even getting an IP address because I cant log onto the network in order to get one via DHCP.
