I'm rackin' my brain. I searched G2007e.com and the NT archives and couldn't find a darn thing. I'm startin' to think that everyone knows but me.
How can I easily provide a printout of a monthly statistics report using google analytics and keep it visually appealing and easy to understand (i.e. graphs)?

create a pdf of the vector output on the site and re-work it to fit your needs?
- mrdobolina0
nevermind, the flash doesnt print to pdf.

a-ha, right click inside of the graphs and select "print" from inside there, use acrobat to make pdf's of the charts, rework them in illy or indesign.

Am I alone on this? Has anyone else had to do this for a client? mrdobolina, what do you do?
- mrdobolina0
can't you do what I have already recommended?
- groundst0
Yeah, I can do that. That's no problem. Thank you for your help.
It just seems as though this is the first time anyone's posed a question like this. I thought giving clients web stats reports was a common thing in the Web Design World. Until now I've been freelancing so, I've nevery really gotten into the whole post production and maintaining of websites.
I just thought there would be an easier, one-click solution. I'm not even opposed to purchasing a program that will do it for me if anyone could suggest one.

you can export the data out as csv and xml. I used to use a program called FunnelWeb for the Mac that would take raw server log files and process them into a 60 page report that would give you bascially any metric someone might ask you for. This had to be 4 or 5 years ago and I am sure there is better software out here for doing this now.

looks like the progrma is free now.

I am in no way endorsing this thing, I havent looked at it in at least 4 years and I used it for specific purposes our company needed. If you try it let me know how it works for you.

That's exactly what I'm looking for but for Google Analytics.
Google Analytics is a great resource for computer literate customers. I offer it for free to everyone; however, I have some customers that would rather have hard copies or PDFs. This is where I'm running into problems.

Normally I would be all over this Funnel thing, but (as far as I know) MediaTemple doesn't offer separate web logs for other domains under my account... or do they? Last I checked (before the migration), all domains were grouped into one web log.

I don't use MT, sorry.

I'm starting to think everyone has me on ignore except you... haha. Wouldn't be surprised. Thanks for your help dobs.

not really much help, but I do what I can.
Why don't you just print the charts as pdf's monthly and whip them into an indesign template?

you want to do what exactly? I use GA everyday.

(Jan 2 07, 08:47)If you learn how to use Excel's graphics tool you might have something like this perhaps?

I set up a new analytics account for every site i do & give the client the logins... that way they can do what they want with the stats.
I can't see the point in printing them out?
- mpfree0
like mrdobolina said, you can export out as CSV or XML or TXT. Print them, why do you need bells and whistles?

Web Link Validator
that tool is BADASS too. crawls your site and gives you a lot of info on what's really going on

can i jack this thread?
i'm a complete noob to analytics but managed to get the google one to work but in my media temple account my stats aren't not showing up - what do you have to do differenty?
is there any benifit to the media temple analytics over the google one?

you needn't do anything differently. It's the same concept, you use a tiny sliver of JS to track your site. You can tie in Google Adwords, etc. to it.
