i used to have a rottie and she was one of the nicest and sweetest dogs of all time. they are honestly great dogs and i have to agree with the assessment of the owners being the reason for the "evil" ones.

i kid you not with the 'sweet' part. any rottweiler that causes trouble is due to its environment.
pits, on the other hand... that's a bad news breed, sorry to say.
the difference is, rotties were not bred specifically to fight. pitbulls were.

well i have been attacked by a rottie, one time badly. and also in belgium and germany kids have been attacked and killed by this breed.
they may be kind, but when they get aggressive they seem to act like pittbulls...
anyway, this shit has to be stopped and those owners -the ones that make them into aggressive killerdogs- need serious psychological treatment.

my parents owned a 135 lb rottweiler that died after 10 years of loving, licking, playing, and tail-wagging
however, if she saw you hit anyone else, be prepared to be knocked on your ass and barked at. but at that point, you kind of deserve it, don't you?
don't feed me that "people shouldn't own big dogs" bullshit, my dog was less harmful to the community/environment her entire life than your car was yesterday

i know its sad that these stories make the news, and its true that the large breeds do kill. but they do get a bad rap.
the little dogs are aggressive as shit too though, poodles, chiuawas and the like. they dont kill, cause they cant, but they bite the shit out of people all the time- hate those little fuckers

I would agree that it does have a lot to do with the owner as well. But, damn those things are aggressive by nature and if you don't train them properly, you're asking for it.

we're a big dog house, too. when i brought my new-born son home it was to share a house with a doberman and a minature schnauzer... and it was the schnauzer we were worried about.
our neighbors (life-long dog folks) have a new pitbull and that dog's cornered me in the driveway, unprovoked, twice.
they've since stopped letting the dog run free in their yard... !!! crazy.
want to get that dog into a frenzy? do something outlandish, like, look at it.

you dont 'train' them. you love them. then they love everyone.
plus it has a lot to do with the environment. if a dog is around a tension riddled invironment, its gonna be fucked up..
