yeah, speed d, it's probably way more in that... do you have a copy?

I would agree Rand...that's the problem though, many designers willing to work on the cheap...although many do what they must to keep working.

RAND :love the use of the colon
crazy clean, stuff, seems like martha stuart would love to have you on staff; i would think.
I like how you use the bold or color change to break paragraphs. i wish my creative director let me use that.
maybe someday, i'll get to work on something nice and contemporary/modern like that.
do you Rand! :-D

pretty serious! :-D
i'm hating my forced style of design.......but I'm still a grasshopper, I hope to be a cacon this year('07) and morph into a fuckin beatle to infect the grfx world the following year with my style.but i doubt it!

i think $1500 is reasonable if youre going to be illustrating/shooting a photo for it or purchasing one for it. but if youre just slapping some type on , $500 is better.
- honest0
how about a royalties deal? $2 for each book sold?
- doesnotexist0
sounds like that would have to be taken into consideration on the basis of who the client is and how many the expect to sell. ive never heard of royalties for any kind of cover.

i agree, depends on the client...but $1500 doesn't sound atrocious. I'd say if you charge $80/hour @ 8 hours concepting, 6 hours design/illustration and/or art direction + production/press time @ 8 hours, you're looking at $1,760.
So, give yourself a pat on the back for your low-ball @ 1500, you shining example of philanthropic generosity ;)

u forgot processing fees gramme...

- gramme0
then i stand corrected, $5,000 at least
;)

$1500 is too much? hhmm...
is illustration involved? how is the thing being printed?
