For a project I'm working on:
Do you use any video sharing sites apart from YouTube?
Why?
What do like and dislike about the sites you're using?
Do you post any of your own materials?
Why?
Any insight will help. Thanks in advance.

i don't use video sites much but i find that one is pretty cool because of some useful editing tool they provide.

Cool, thanks:
Why do you use Metacafe?
What do like and dislike about Metacafe?
Do you post any of your own materials?
Why?
Are you aware of a program named ‘producer rewards’ at Metacafe?
What do you think of it?

i listed sites that my brother uses and links to me, i'm usually not that kind of guy, intervids are a waste of my productivity. i'll say he uses them because they are funny, he doesn't care who does what or how, as long as it plays a video he can laugh at. things about video sites i've noticed are: mature content telling me i have to login to youtube, i hate that and appreciate it at the same time, it keeps me from wasting more time if i can't watch it, so if you want visitors, don't block them. Google videos is the best, no comments with re-sizable video but that prob doesn't fit your communtity 2.0 outline you have in mind. i love rss feeds too

reminds me of this:
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/15…Very cool. is the revenue sharing on revver worth it? I posted a couple of videos the on dec 7th, still not reviewed.
Metacafe pays poeple for the views and not rev share.
this guy made more than $25,000:

i've only been using you tube activly but have watched on practically all of them, thinking about youtube quite seriously, getting a directors account and getting into some crazy viral stuff...video is the new 'killer app' for the next 5 years apparently

I'm a little surprised not more people are using http://www.revver.com, since you actually can make $ on your vids.

I have posted some snowboarding videos in the past. Just to get a feel how different services work. Obviously site that lets the content rights owner (=me) make money is good. Another important thing is an open API to upload vids. In the long run with large number of files HTML forms or dedicated apps become cumbersome. Sites need to integrable to the video workflow. It is real important to be able to get an URL back so you can use the direct url on your own page to point to your files. Only service I have ran into that does all this is Revver. I had a look at the sandbox and I would most definately use the service if I could trust that the service is going to be around and I can count on getting my money back. Usage wise I think flash video is real problem. Internet video is going to hit the mainstream only if living room devices can be used. At the moment it seems that H.264 video encoding is doing strong on that field so a Quicktime-based video sharing site might kill it in the long run.
