OK, I need a new cell phone and service...
I live in Phoenix, so we get Cingular, T-Mobile, Verizon, Alltell, and thats all I can think of at the moment.
Looking for a sleek, slim, flip phone. No Blackberry or Sidekick or anything like that with the million features. Something like the RAZR or the Samsung A900. Camera would be nice, so would Bluetooth.
I've been reading reviews elsewhere about phones & service, and I've gotten a whole bunch of different stuff from different people- so I'm a little confused.
Thanks!

Wait until MacWorld in January to see if Apple has their phone ready. Could be interesting.

i dig my razr. thought it was big when i first got it, but it's turning out to be a great small feeling phone. if you're using a mac there's a great app for lots of bluetooth phones at http://www.reelintelligence.com/…

I have had a razr for about 6 months and I can't stand it. Crap battery, and worst interface courtesy of Verizon. I'm done with flip phones.
That Sony Erickson that 007 has in "Casino Royale" i hear is sweet.

No flip though!

SideKick III - T-mobile

I had a non flip-phone before and I just don't like scratches & "gunk" getting inbetween the buttons & such. Seems like flip-phones stay cleaner. Feels more compact too.
mp, my brother has the Sidekick III. It's kinda big & I don't do that much texting anyway. So, not for me.
Question: Does the Service company decide what the phone interface looks like? I thought that was already part of the phone.

I've got a Samsung x820.
2-3 day battery, vibration only in silent mode, but it's the slimmest phone out there.
Mobile phones, just like computers, have been ugly for a few years, I haven't seen a goodlooking phone in long time. This one's design is surprisingly acceptable to me.

verizon customer service blows. i've found t-mobile to be the best balance, plus they will let you use unlocked phones. verizon will only let you use their phones.
phone UI is usually branded by the service provider, and some of the features may be limited depending on what your service provider does/doesn't support

OK. So far at the top of the list is T-Mobile & RAZR.
Did they ever fix that problem with the RAZR? I can't remember if it was bad reception or dropped calls... something like that. Didn't have anything to do w/ the provider.
