yeah, seriously, it's a handy gadget. You probably could rig and old cassette player to line into your machine, but you'd need a bunch of conversion tools, etc.
this streamlines it.

i did alot of this myself about 10 yrs ago with my old power mac. i recorded a bunch of my records too. boy, all that money on scsi connections!
