Who uses one for print work? Is it up to the job, or would you recommend a MacPro?
People using MacPro's – would you say it's worth the extra cash?
Hmmm...

I'm also looking at investing in an 24" iMac.
Pro's & con's?

I saw it at the store yesterday and it is BIG and bright. I've work with 20" iMac and never experienced a problem.

i use a 20" iMac or MBP for print, and have had no probs...

I recently faced this decision, and was really tempted by the iMac because it was so much cheaper than what I ended getting. I got a mac pro because I wanted 2 large hard drives (one for backup), more RAM and a larger monitor. Also figured an all-in-one might be more prone to breakage--but that ight be false. My wife got a 20" iMac and it's hot!

there are some 20'" imacs in the office here and the backside of the monitor is basically a space heater

thats why you get on the phone with apple and don't let them off the phone until they replace the old parts with new ones... i even got them to send a guy to my house so i didn't have to deal with the fucks at the apple store or be without it for 2 weeks....

that's the kind of privileged treatment you get when you're hot

Was playing around with a 24" iMac a few weeks ago. It's awesome.
Very bright and large but it's 24"... what else is it supposed to be!?!
Bench tests from MacWorld always have the iMac rated right up there with the others. It's pretty nice.

imac faster than mbp?

i've had a mac pro for three months and love it. it's a beast, but i think it's overkill for just print. the imac should be fine, but there's not much of a price difference b/w the 24" and the base mac pro. if you have a monitor, it might make more sense to go with the pro as it'll definitely last longer than the all-in-one.
