Quick question:
Please look at the following variations of Futura and tell me which one you would consider to be a bold version of Futura Light, which is at the bottom.

I can't do a bold version of this in InDesign like in PS where you can do faux bold, or can you?

Can you apply a stroke?

(Dec 14 06, 14:19)Hell yah, probably before I go to bed tonight if my girlfriend isn't over.
Oh, WOOPS! sorry, um, that worked, set to .25, but I've actually found the more realistic workaround was to use Futura MD but reduce the font size by 1 pt.

skelly - I paid for book and downloaded book, and it's LIGHTER than Futura Light.
Seriously.

that's b/c futura is weak. Absolutely useless for text, and there are so many better options for headlines....

It's one that we use here at our office for marketing materials, looks pretty good for what we do, but with new collateral in 07 almost everything has switched to Optima.

optima - now there's a horrible font.

I tend to stay away from Bitstream's Futura...

I've just had bad luck with fonts from the Bitstream folks... Linotype fonts seem to play nicer with macs it could be my imagination though
