so um about my IP question/????
speaking of IP addresses, today a techie came over to me and said he needed to take an inventory of the puters on the floor, i explained to him that i was a freelancer and the puter i was on was my own, he then said well he still needs to take an inventory of all the puters and that he needed to goto in my puter to grab my IP address..in the end i wouldnt let him touch my puter but isnt htat for them to see where i go on the net???
just so i can claify that to the fulltimers.
is it?!?!

I'm pretty sure.
I do whatever I want basically on mine except go to NSFW links, and MySpace here.
Within reason of course.
Basically no sites that I can't talk my way out of going to.
They may give you some gripe about how you're using their bandwith, so it doesn't matter if you're freelance but it just seems like someone is trying to be big brother.
Most IT/MIS people can't fathom why someone doesn't want them to control their computer, and basically want to be G-d.
Ain't that rite fellas?
:D
(Please don't take away my NT.)

that's an invasion of privacy and I would've felt the same way. but is there a company policy about that stuff?
- e-pill0
flav n' jaline thanks for the answer...im not sure of the policies of that company but i felt like they were trying to hard to lie about getting the IP.
...but to our regular program...it seems there is so many threads of being banzored from here over there its too funny to read em.
this should be great amunition for them to bring their end of the battle up a few notches.
so im excitied~!!!!!!!!!

Yea, the IP Address?
I mean, if they really wanted to, they could get it easily without asking you to get physically on yoru computer for anything I'm sure ...
That doesn't make much sense the more I think about considering they probably have network set up and everyone shares an external IP Address...

YH has more people with multiple usernames. First of all, YH has more registered members in total, and secondly, you don't need more than one email address to sign up for accounts, I don't think, and therefore people sign up like crazy just to be able to post with different names. Of course, there are lots of people here with multiple names, but there are more over there.
