Just a disclaimer, I searched the PVN, I tried Craigslist but its a f*cking jungle. I'm hoping maybe I can get some NT love in my quest for an apartment.
I'm interning (design) for a company in Manhattan. I'm looking for a bedroom in Brooklyn for 4 months (< 45min commute to WTC area), Jan through the end of April. I have between 600-700/mo to contribute to rent, including utilities (maybe a tad more if the situation is right).
I'm a 21/m... hmm, I won't turn this into a personal ad, if you have any question about me or know of any opportunities please feel free to email me:

um...have your tried going thru a broker???
i highly suggest you find one, and brokers outside of manhattan only charge the 1 month fee for their charge.
moving to nyc is not easy and nor is it chaep, i advise you pull all your resources together, and re-bump this tomorrow morning to get all the attentios of all new yorkers.
nter 'jteore' spent the last year looking for apts in nyc and she is probably the most knowledgable on this as its so recent that she spent in researching for a place to live.
good luck!!

can't he move in with you epill?

Thanks for the insight e-pill. Broker seemed like it might be overkill for what I'm looking to do, come down for four months and leave, but maybe it's the way to go after all...

You're looking for an apartment that you need in about 2 weeks, and do not currently leave in NYC and you're on NT?
...
Go thru a broker.
I mean have you very set specifics or whatever, the search will be narrowed immediately on their end.
I mean if they even have anything for that. The price range seems like you need roomies.

your best bet is to look for a sublet on craigslist.
http://newyork.craigslist.org/su…or pay a fee and use this website
http://www.sublet.com/city_renta…try to look for bushwick, crown heights, bed sty and sunset park in brooklyn, those are the areas that have the best deals. 600-700 is not very much- even in brooklyn.

don't go thru a broker, you want a share right? brokers will charge you way more than you are able to pay right now. l

6-700 bucks and the job is near WTC youre better off finding a place in JC and just take the path in
- mknstrymrks0
Thanks for sublet.com Tara, looks promising.
Flavor Flav, any recs on where to find a decent broker?
Thanks again!
- mknstrymrks0
JC is no fun :( lol jk, good point.
- Tara0
there are no decent brokers, they're all scum
- taragee0
lol im just saying youll end up in a crap neighborhod with a big commute for $700

Haha Tara is probably rite. I live in Pittsburgh, so my suggestion was based on teh fact that you are not located in Brooklyn/NYC now and need this quick, you mite want to look at the broker avenue to get this done while you're in Buffalo.
Good luck.

i have a broker, ill find the info later today, i live in queens and thsi broker is for queens...she is a good friend of mine too as she hooked me up with a few apts and i hooked her up with a few tennants, so maybe i can get her to waive the fee for you...thats a small maybe but its a start, i suggest you go walk the areas you may want to live within and grab the numbers of the brokers there.
explain you situation and try to get the fee waived, its only hard if you dont ask.
dont listen to the idiots here who say you cant do it becasue for them they are people who dont seem to try and its easier for them to say you cant do something when you can.
im pretty busy but ill help, if it works great if not, well then not that broker...try another and another til you find it but dont hesitate and remember apts in nyc move very fast and you have to smoetimes be there at the right moment to snatch it from someone else.
good luck and email me if you want. i will not post the broker info here as NT has a lot of spammers.

He's only going to be here for 4 months. brokers are going to want him to sign a 1 year or 2 year lease. Find a share, best way.
