PDF trouble

I have a document that making a black PDF out of the PScript file.
I have all my setting up as normal....other files make color PDFs.....is there some type of lock or EPS file that might be buggin the PS.....
i have no idea.
my settings are set for PDf, pagelay out is PDF.
I do hate Quark....i know, iknow, 'thats my problem'

it's been some time since i touched quark, but try to print the file to the pdf printer ppd, or save a .ps file and distill that. the export as pdf function in quark was always hit or miss.

thats what I'm doing.....saving as PS. file then distilling.

do you have any means to preflight your layout, it maight turn up something

This might be a a work around:
could you create an .eps file from quark - then in acrobat -
file / createPDF / from(that) File

its making messed up EPS files to.
I'll flight check it. I hope I do find something.

sounds like its outputing as composite.
look for a setting that may have been accidentally engaged.
that or maybe you got some screwy spot colors?

when you go to Export as PDF
check OPTIONS and then go to Output

export as PDF doesn't work....hmmm
I flight checked it and found a pict. file that said is stored......but i can't find it in the under usage. Like its embedded.
I'll probably reuid the whole fuckin file.rrrrrrrrr :-/

hmmm...
I know when you collect for output there is an Embedded Pictures Option check box. And embedded picts can be a PICT file.my brain hurts _i dunno

i did that also and I didn't collect that noname file.

yeah I think you can only open Quark 3.3 - 4.11 in InDesign.
I guess you'll just have to make another file and maybe copy bit by bit and make pdfs as you go to see where the problem is----

i still think its a composite/ seperations or spot color issue when your saving the pdf, but can't see your menu so who knows.. ?

i had a dream last nite that a brown bear was attacking people in a park. but they would kill the bear....
I also had a dream after i hit snooze that i had abad comb over and some how was very bald.
