Has anyone come up with an idea for a product or know someone who has? I have a great idea but it would have to go from my head to being able to be sold in about 3 months. How can I get this going? Advice?

first make sure you have plenty of cash - product development is not cheap and leadtimes are ususally alot longer than 3 months.
you need to protect yr idea - either by registering a patent through the patent office (if its patentable) or by design registration (which is pretty much worthless)
you then need to approach a product development agency, get them to sign a confidentiality agreement or Non Disclosure Agreement (search the web) and talk through your idea.
you can also put as much details as possible about your idea into an envelope and send it recorded delivery to yrself, when you get it dont open it and keep it safe for if you ever need to use it in court.
good luck

if you really wanna give it a go, follow undo's advice.
but 3 month is impossible though, patent / design registration takes longer than that alone.

Does it have to be patented? Say I had an idea for an iPod case.. there are others out there and it's not a new idea. i just want to do one with like prints or something. All I need to do is find someone to make it. The thing I'm thinking of is kinda' the same way as that. Also, cold I get it out the door and then try and patent it?

Do you all know of any "product development agencies" out there?

I got a few quotes but I'm still not diggin the places I've talked with 100%. Anyone know of good studios that do products related to fashion? I need someone to do textile research and pop out some specs/cad stuff for the attachments ie snaps and shit. I have no idea where to turn and google is dry.
