but you can hardly do a Knight or a Bishop in Illustrator and export... there's a lot of cutting to do.

i'm a huge n00b at industrial stuff, but i'm guessing there's a lot of things to consider (like waste, machine cutting surplus, etc) when you're designing for a specific material...

.it's a nice easy app for testing solids, light, etc, but i don't see any major export features in it (like spatial coords, etc). i don't think it would work.

witt, the stl piece will actually be very brittle and sensitive to temp change, it first needs finished and sealed. after that a mold or cast can be made and different colors densities types of materials can then make the production part
the video page sucks because they didn't want to pay to have a proper video made but the point is there and you can see whats up with the process by checking out the site

OMG. I just finished a 10 page essay. Tomorrow I'm writing another 10 page essay, then a 7 page essay on Monday, and then, THANK GOODNESS, I will be done until I have 3 exams to write starting December 13th.
I can't wait until Christmas.

haha, thanks Witt. I finished writing about the social effects on the liberation of women resulting from the rise of the department store for my first essay. My second will deal with Lyotard's idea of Modernity versus Habermas's idea, and my third will be about Heathcliff's romantic character versus Frankenstein's character.

use maya...real easy to draw a line and then form a circular shape from it...a pawn would take a minute to make...
