What should be the salary for a Senior Multi-Media Designer working for a major television broadcasting corporation in new york city ?
- tkmeister0
i think most of the broadcast companies are cheap. so i'd say 75k+. but it really depends how senior they are looking for.

Senior, major broadcasting?
yeah dude, not under 100k.
fucking account managers make more than that with zero experience.

sr designer that high up? i thought there's AD, sr AD/ACD, CD, VP on top of that. so sr designer isn't really a top of food chain. i think if you are on the marketing side and doing more strategy planning, you can probably make more.
if you work for a big corporations, the money usually gets better at Director/VP level. otherwise, you have to climb up the ladder.
i've done worked for one of major broadcast corporations and many other big corporate america. they didn't pay that much. i mean, advertising agencies pay a lot better. well, at least when i was there.
also, i am assuming this is a fulltime gig so it's even less.

no less than 85k a year. anything lower and they're low-balling you.
if they hit you with 85k counter with 90k.
good luck.

ask as much as you can upfront, hopefully your salary with increase with inflation as the company grows so should your title and your salary.
75k is not a senior level salary anymore and in a few years depending on the company you may only see a small increase in a raise in salary.
80k is relitively the same as 75k with slightly more room to play with but its still way under 100k where in a year you may see a lesser level designer sweep in and just ask for that higher salary and get it while you their senior are making the same as the regular level designers want to make.
try to structure yourself into the 100+ range for not only will you benefit in real raises and responsibilities your status and career level should be equal with your title.
dont hesitiate and demand more from yourself.
nyc salaries are raising and yesterdays senior level pay is today's mid level ranges.
at least thats what i am seeing.
good luck!!! and make more money!!!
