how can i convert these? will anything open them?

ok so i thought this was a bitmap file format. i'm trying to get these maps to open from this map software.
the more i'm reading says that .img is also a disk image or iso format, but i don't think this is what i'm looking for. i'm assuming this is some type of image file format.

they are basically disc image files.
usually they are mac files. can just double click on them and they open :)
anywhoo.. this might help you out

this is for a PC only program and when i put the img file on my mac it wouldn't open in anything...
already looked at fileext and thats why i'm confused. it says two different things for the extension.

They're Electric Image native image format. You can use Graphic converter to open them or this plugin in PS CS2

word. thanks. i'm going to try this out.

any idea where to put that file in the plugins? its not working in file formats or import/export and the readme doesn't say
what is graphic converter?
- turosatano0
sorry - you said map software, PC only -I don't think it's electric image.
graphic converter opens almost every image format out there, even old ones- very useful but mac only- i think.

i'm on a mac, but the company that makes this GPS integration software only makes it for a PC. we brought one up from tech support.
i'm going to try out image converter... we'll see if this is even the right thing. thanks for the help on that.

You are dealing with this arent you?
http://docs.info.apple.com/artic…not an image (picture) file...
- MLP0
no i am not. this is a .img file on a PC, which does not utilize disk images.
at this point i'm not sure what it is as the mac doesn't recognize it as a disk image, nor will it open with any converters i've found.

what does the mac think it is? (Get Info)

and have you tried Graphic Converter? (which opens stuff they havent even invented yet)
