My client has asked me to "create a powerpoint template from the website's background". I can do this, but neither him nor me know what default dimmensions might be. 800x600, 1024x768?

does it matter? wont it be full screen anyways?

i always use 1280*960 at 150 dpi for ppt templates. never had anyone complaining. looks good on screen and prints fine on an office deskjet.

powerpoint presentations are weird in size. Open up a default one and look at the dimensions, they are normally set to:
W: 25.4cm
H: 19.05cmdon't ask why, it's just how MS like to do things.
then translate that into pixels. I think it scales the page in an odd way but it seems to work!

Thanks, guys.
Do you give it to them as bmp or incorporate into a powerpoint file?

Thanks Baskerville.

when you offer a ppt you can set things like fonts, titles, lists, colors for them to use throughout the template.

10x7.5 inch @ 150dpi

I sent them a 1024x768 sample, waiting for feedback. That's what most projectors run at anyway, isn't it?

the resolution hasn't got anything to do with the projector. it just beams whatever it is connected to.
