I was really hesitant about posting this thread, I figured the liberals and political powerhouses of NT (from what gruntt posted I'm assuming that's mrdoboina?) were going to come down hard on me.
But this is turning out more civilized that I thought.
The cat must have their tounge. I think that cat's name might be Irony, either that or Captain Snuggles.

You do understand this is the old senate, right? The guard does not change until January.

- paraselene0

i did not want to say anything dobs, but you are correct. funny how that 'little' detail got over looked.
now, what were you saying again jaz?
- jwoods0
I think you need to go back up and read the link mrdobolina.
The Democrats voted for the payraise. They needed 30 votes against to reject it but they didn't get it (obviously) and the pay hike went through... so soon after the election.
What better way to welcome all your new Democrat buddies then to give them an 8k pay raise, to go along with the 12k-23k spending cash they get each year and the taxpayers money to pay for hotels, food and what not each year as well.
Again. So soon? Needed? Bigger issues? All yes.

fucking dipshits.
you should have taken a civics class in high school.
- Mimio0
They were expected to this before the session ended. The campaigning by the Dems about minumum wage used this vote as a party lever.
- jwoods0
In three posts I can already tell you are a classy fellow and great debater. I'd like to say it's good to meet you but frankly I'd be lying.
Is this the way you treat everyone on Newstoday you don't agree with?
It's quite obvious why they voted for the payraise. And, if this is the old government (Republican lead) why would they vote for a payraise to their Democratic rivals?
Makes no sense other than this... there is no difference between a Republican and Democrat once they're in power, cause absolute power corrupts absolutely.
- jwoods0
Yeah glad you mentioned that Mimio. That's another shaddy part of the deal. They attach their payraise to a minimum wage payraise... so if anyone opposes their payhike they knew the liberal spin media would have spun it around to make it look like that person actually opposed the minimum wage increase.
Shaddy. Shaddy. Shaddy. Clever... but shaddy.
Government sucks.

link?
mrdobolina
(Nov 17 06, 07:10)I heard it on the local news station this morning while I was getting ready for work.
Do you have one?
jwoods
(Nov 17 06, 07:16)?
- Mimio0
I think the controversy comes in as the intention of the Dems is to rasie the minumum wage. The GOP has opposed this type of legislation for 15+ years within that time there's been now four capital hill pay raises for COL/inflation etc.
- jwoods0
you should have taken a civics class in high school.
mrdobolina
(Nov 17 06, 08:43)Maybe a few of us should have taken a civics class in high school, but I'd argue you should have taken "Finishing 101" to polish yourself up a bit cause you obviously have no class.
Will someone +1 me cause from the PVN rules yesterday I can't until I get 1000 posts.
- mpfree0
you're very naughty jwoods
- jwoods0
Mimio if you ask me the minimum wage should be $10.
But you're not asking me so I wasted a post.
Darn.
- madirish0
jwoods- put up a portflio link. it is only gentlemanly of one in a duel...
- mrdobolina0
What do you disagree with? My delivery? That is fair, but jazx is a fucking asshole to people constantly and yet noone is calling him out. I play to the bar that is raised or lowered.
- Mimio0
Well the Dems are trying to push it through next session, we'll see what happens. 49+ Senators might look like total assholes for taking apay raise themselves and leaving ta bug chunkof the general workforce in working poverty.
