any suggestions? I have a guy's reunion soon and we're after the best curry house London has to offer.

every curry house on brick lane seems to have won a 'best curry in london' award or something.
The best curry place on brick lane is the one that doesn't offer you any specials prices or free watery beer, it just does good food. I think it's called preem
Or you could just go for a local place.

I was about to type 'avoid brick lane at all costs'..but as baskerville said, I am sure there are some decent places there.
And its pretty exciting walking down that street too, as the whole 'experience' is pretty good.

saliques, hanbury st, off brick lane, e2. maybe e1 actually.

damn.. preem is damn good actually. I live of brick lane and been to em all. I usually go to the "non dining room" preem. There are 2. Depends if u want "fine dining". contradiction in terms!

Preem is excellent.
The Clifton is also very good.
1 Whitechapel Road
http://www.cliftonrestaurant.com…An alternative to your usual 'Britistani' curry house. Much more traditional, regional dishes - cooked in front of you in their open kitchen.

My personal fave is the New Tayyab in Whitechapel; you know it's good when you have to cue for 15 minutes behind about 40 indians / bangladeshies / pakistanies.
Wonderful food and cheep as chips too.

I'd recommend Ravi Shankar's behind Euston station. It's all vegetarian, paper dahl all that authentic stuff.
Service is not so good though, rude as fuck.

Ravi Shankar's is special, anywhere on the euston road is pretty handy. Good price too.
Good shout by Gordy on new Tayyab, excellent choice.
Or if you want to pay a bit more go for Namaste Spice off of Lemen street, by Aldgate. That's my favourite..
