my MINI Mac is sick I think......its running a bit slow......any defragment in OS X. I did the erase free space thing with the disk utilities. Or is there an optimize drive. Mybe even an App you guys recommend to help run things a lil smoother.
THANKS!!!

that is your problem. OS X does not need to defragment drives. that is not a UNIX issue.

you cant defrag a mac.....can you?
check your permissions and repair them perhaps?

what do think a 1Gig of RAM upgrade should run me. I need to juice! :-))

yeah, from OSX on you no longer defrag your hdrive. you need to repair the permissions and disk using the basic disk tool utility on your install/upgrade cd/dvd - just make sure you reboot from the disc instead of your hdrive.
the hdrive directory is no longer managed the same way as in 9 so by repairing permissions and the drive with the utility tool you are of sorts defraging the database that maintains the files structure.
other apps like cocktail etc can work ok also.

erase free space has nothing to do with making it run better...it just makes your secret files harder for MI5 to find.
