Is it worth purchasing Norton AV 07 or better still be using the 2005 and keep on updating? Are they the same 'cos I remember once '05 got stuck downloading its updates and never updated again for some reason so I stopped using it. Any ideas, comments, suggestions?
Thx in advance!!!

I don't understand people and virus protection.
If you don't want to get a virus, don't look at pr0n, download shit you have no idea what it does and basically just don't do stupid shit.

i look at pron, download shit and do everything, thats why there is the net. and what are you? a monk? i m sure you do those things as well, i ask about choosing a norton product not what i look for on the net.

You wanted suggestions, that was my suggestion.
I'm not a monk, I'm just not a fucking d0nk n00b when it comes to the internet.

pretty much what flavorful said. I always saw those virus programs as a hassle and waste of system resources that could go to better use, providing that you are careful when browsing around.

i have a free AV and Zone Alarm. Not too heavy. Never had any problems.

just decided not to install one coz if i get it, i get it then format the shit. backup and format once in a while usually works anyway

The guy asked for advice on AV software..no need to flame him.
I used to use Nortons, and all I did was uninstall it and then reinstall it each year to avoid repaying the subscription fee.
It seemed to work well and didn't really hog resources on my piece of shit PC.
