or if you're still unsure, compare to suggested illustration fees in the Guild book... anything high profile like a cover is $2000+.
just because it's a "cool" product doesn't mean your work is worth any less. these industries are brutal for this. if anything your work is worth more because the art is what ultimately sells the board.

Look at it like original photography purchase and licensing.

there's no formula. are you doing a bunch of board "graphics" or have they approached you as an "artist" to design a board? and as with everything depends a lot on the size of the company.
assuming it a mid-size client, i'd suggest 1500 CAN$ for pumping out typical snowboard graphics, and $2000-$5000 for a personal art piece.
a good reference i think is the Salomon contest that offers 1000 euro +board as top prize. so with that in mind, charging anything under $1500 for boards you have been asked to create, is doing the industry and designers a disservice.

So my Graphic Artist Guild Handbook greatly lacks a section on how much to charge for snowboard topsheet and base graphics ....
what do you think an appropriate quote would be for something like this?
