I work at a design firm in STL. Six designers, one CD/principal, her husband/co-owner/at-home business manager/dad, 1 office manager, kitchen usually stocked w/ beer, posters we designed lining the hallway, Quizno's & Einsteins firectly downstairs from us.
Been here since March, I love it. Especially since I just moved 10 minutes away. The work comes in waves, a bit slow at the moment but could be hecka busy tomorrow, who knows.
Dave_glanz, I interviewed at HZDG back when I was still in MD. Nice people/place.
Metagramme.com does not represent anything newer than December '05. Will have some tasty updates eventually (could be a while since I like the current gig...)

I work in Carnaby Street, Londonshire... for which I am joint owner/partner...
...and also do my own part time stuff for other clients and friends
...want to go and work in New York later next year if I get the chance... not sure how likely that is though.

I haven't done any work in over a year. Not sure why they still pay me. Thats my life. Empty.

I'm a Software Engineer at a Human Resource company. I've been here for over 5 years, and the time has flown by.
Lately, I've been doing more design work which is great - however - working with the branding team and marketing is a complete and utter bear.
Informing them that div/span trumps tables, and css is not a fad is like pulling teeth. Plus not designing strictly for 800x600 because some of the higher ups use it... my G-d.
I like what I do for the most part, it pays really well and the people here are great.
However, like everyone ... I always like testing the waters and secretly dream on moving out of Pittsbugh to a much bigger city.
This of course will probably never happen, as I am incredibly attached to this place for some reason, even though the older I get the more I feel trapped.

I'm at an ad agency – trying to stand up for design, and mostly getting shot down for quicker, easier, more boring solutions requested by our clients

i work in the Fashion/ Accessories industries, i am a senior level Industrial Product Designer.
i work in an urban setting and there is JBL speakers pumping hip-hop 24 7 on a very loud decible.
the fit model room is just across from my desk and the ladies well they are super hotties!!!
i like the atmosphere i work within as there arent any drug tests in this company as there is a large bowl of fresh baggies of weed on the front desk for anyone who needs to jump in the "GREEN ROOM" for a quick creative boost [no lap tops allowed in that room] or else its a permanent work space for me and others.
