Lacie hard drive and XP SP2

    I've got a Lacie external hard drive that I've had for a good few years now. Recently upgraded to XP service pack 2 on my PC (I have to work with both pcs and macs)... and lo and behold... the drive is not recognised via firewire 400 nor USB 2.0! I can't connect via firewire 800. I've tried all sorts and spent 5hrs of my life on Sat night trying to get a resolution. Checked forums and there are a lot of people out there with similar problems. Just wondering if any of you have experienced this also and found a solution? I need stuff off my external... boo hoo! Big thanks in advance
