Some of you big guns with PS and Illustrator (especially) - do you have any tips for me in relation to what I'm doing here?
Working on a t-shirt, vector images in Illustrator with a set of 45 degree thick lines that overlay a particular shape.
There's some stuff I want to do in Photoshop with brushes that I only have for PS, and some halftone areas.
Is it best to do the extent of the vector layout work in Illustrator, then switch to Photoshop for anything that deals with brushes to get a less clean, more distressed look?
Just trying to figure out the right way to bounce between the two and the right file formats to use.
Thanks for your help.

for tee prints i'd suggest trying to keep your master layout in AI, and place in photoshop elements.
Illustrator just makes more sense as a final fiile format, imo.
but bounce your art back and forth between the apps if you need to use brushes, distress, etc.
i also rasterize a lot of vectors if they get too complex.

Thanks horton.
Let's say that I have a solid shape with distressed edges in PS, and need to put that into Illustrator.
How do I copy that shape so that it's only the shape in Illustrator and not the shape and a white background?

You're the best. If anyone ever calls you an A-hole, tell em I said they're full of it.
