So I am going to be buying a small NTSC broadcast monitor to help in editing, color correction, and post vfx on upcoming projects.
Anyone know how I go about connecting it to my G5? Do I need a card of some sort to be the go between?

either get a card or get a digitizer and hook it to your firewire and it should have a video out as well. i would even put off getting an ntsc monitor and get an lcd instead, the sony pvms are so hard to carry when all your really doing is monitoring the shots. imo.

Thanks, I am actually weighing that option as well. But some various dv people I've spoken to seem to agree that between the holes in the detail for doing more intensive color correction, and also that most LCDs have cheats built into them to display the best signal always rather than the real thing, it might be more of a waste in the long term. Not sure.
Card-wise, have you ever seen this? http://www.blackmagic-design.com…

any video card with either composite or bnc out will work for you. apple also makes vga to composite converters, though i wouldn't recommend that route
