After finishing university I did what all grads do and go on a load of placements for no money. For the last few years i've ran my own small design agency (2-3 staff depending on the job). The thing is after working on my own for so long and not doing much design just chasing payments/getting clients/keeping the taxman happy etc. I'm getting the urge to find an agency job. Benefits are 9-5, can switch off at the weekends, get paid at regular intervals, do design rather than admin and hopefully learn off some other designers. Anyone else ever feel like this?

i thought the point was getting where you're at.

Not necessarily. Not everyone wants to get to the same place.

You think you'll be doing 9 to 5 at an agency! More like 9 to 7.

yeah, I freelanced for years, hired others to help out, etc... but I realized I had to be a salesman 24/7, so even my free time was booked up with hustling for more work. so there is something to be said about working fulltime. and now that you have mgmt. + creative experience I'm sure you'll transition just fine...

thinking more deeply, having a job just cuts me from my work!
