Interesting read here on former NFL player Pat Tillman.

truely a sad story

Sad story indeed, but you know, friendly fire stuff happens. It just does. It's part of war, and if you sign on the dotted line you gotta to live with the odds and these guys know it. It sucks, but it happens. The army was fucked by not being straight up in the first place, and tried to turn it into some sorta political rah-rah thing.
Either way does nothing to the bravery and sacrifice Tillman did. RIP.

he was one hell of a guy. very sad.
i forget where, i think maybe discovery channel, but i saw on tv an animation of what happened that day.
something like 2 convoys were going through a canyon, the second convoy came under attack (tillmans), unknown to the first convoy who had to turn around to come back to the fight the second convoy had already gotten out of their hummvees and stormed up the sides of the ridge. the first convoy didn't know this and when they came to the firefight they instinctively fired at the men on the ridge, which were tillman and his crew.
very sad.

And Pat's brother, who also served at the same time:

his brother is just pissed now that Pat is dead. he didn't say that initially. somewhat of a hypocrite if you ask me. all of a sudden it's an 'illegal invasion' thing.
pffffftt

and man, is it a trip to see this as a thread in NT. never thought i would see that....
it is very sad that he did die, and the means by which it happened. he was a very large personality and to be honest, a jock-cock most of the time. i am stil very saddened that he was ended so young- no one should have that happen to them

there's a difference between friendly fire and not following the rules of engagement, which the article posted in the first thread here outlines.
sad regardless.
