what sort of rip are you using? that's normally where you can make that shit happen, that is if you are using rip software...

i have no idea what a rip is. could that be the problem of why i dont know how to do this?

there's always the age old method of folding a bunch of pages and drawing page numbers on them and then unfolding them--not that I would recommend it, as it can drive one insane, as I know from personal experience IMHO

thats actually a pretty good technique if worse comes to worse. i just have to make sure i dont have any pictures that overlap spreads. that would become a pain.

basically, the rip software creates postscript files for printing, ever have problems with printing quark files on an old epson inkjet? this solves those issues. The more advanced colour laser printers have more sophisticated software that allows you to imposition files [and a lot more] on the rip server [away from your computer]...
