yawn. yawn. yawn. same old same old. old site. Concrete you really have been hiding under a desk, and so should GTF.
- fresnobob0
same old? I dunno, man, its not a hip new website or anything, but they have far more above average work than most.
- Cantona0
GTF produce some of the most interesting work around and have done consistently for years. What are you on about?
- Engage0
GTF are the best graphics designers in London... you are a fool
- momento0
I do not disagree that they are good designers, but as for being the best in London - I think that could be refuted.
I am no fool, so careful with the insults.

great work, who cares if it's old, all the good new stuff is just old stuff you either haven't seen before or in a while...

(Nov 1 06, 02:55)Careful with the insults?
What are you going to do smack someone in the face with code?
If you want respect, speak respectfully to others. Sorry that I somehow missed their site before now, I'll just go back to my cave.
Twat.

GTF are brilliant designers. Calling them the best in london or uk or wherever is disputable but the quality of their work is not.
And another thing..theyre short on the egos unlike so many of their contemporaries.Would be great if they updated their site once in a while though.

GTF do nice work but seem to be concerned more with print processes and finishes than content in a lot of their work. Don't get me wrong I really like them. They're nice guys too, a friend worked there for a bit and they've looked after him.
It's just I'm not sure how long lasting their design will be, only time will tell.

'great work, who cares if it's old, all the good new stuff is just old stuff you either haven't seen before or in a while...'
I hear what you're saying, and I agree to an extent. I agree that GTF does some very good work.
However I think there is other great work out there, some of which is new, and this site manages to allow us all to find it. If the UK design press were even half as 'alert' as this site (and others like it) then we might see other names appearing in their magazines. [N.B and before you think it this is not me indirectly crying because I don't often appear in those magazines].
Just as an example, CR just started doing a blog and a page on myspace, I mean its only 2006 - amazing.
As for you Concrete you are right, maybe I should have been more respectful in my words, so I apologise (without any code slaps - not that I could do that anyway).
Yours (turning oneself to mute),

i hate it, no i think it is terribly childish when people speak of "this is the best *** agency of ***". who fucking cares. it's all subject to the next man's opinion.

'Would be great if they updated their site once in a while though.'
That was kind of my point but I wrote my initial entry very badly as Concrete pointed out.
As for ego's I had an experience with them once that could dispute that but I have said enough and now the Newsstoday Police are knocking at my door.

'hey, momento, speak up man. even if you're alone at this, fuck it, speak out and defend your opinion.'
I kind of did Sir in my previous post about the UK Design Press, which is not GTF's fault - hence my explanation.
As for ego's...I once designed a booklet for a well known publishing company and the booklet included various vector drawn studio's with the usual elements. One of which was a chair, which just so happened was a similar chair that appeared in a piece that GTF had produced.
The publishing company got a letter claiming that I had copied them and was in breach of copyright - because obviously they owned the chair (not), nor did they own the rights to the style it was drawn - unless they do own the 'vector' style (which is likely).
So I went to meet them after a talk they were giving and face-to-face they were really nice guys who excused themselves from writing the letter and apologised. Which does lend itself to the comment that they don't have ego's (I went on to get drunk with them that night), but to write a letter with those kind of accusations was rediculous.
Anyway their work is great, the site is old, and UK design press are quite lazy - done.

love that 'writers in prison' piece Arran...
I was sorta kidding about the 'no new good work' connentation to my post. I just find myself more often than not, enjoying old bookmarks more than a majority of work/sites I've seen this past year...

well your 25 book is great - strange I am dumping my portfolio for anew range of books I am hoping to afford/print twice a year.
Great minds.
