Does anyone use their computer for a TV? What kind of equipment does it take to hook it up with a cable cord?
Just wondering...
Cheers!

Are you on a mac or pc? Either way you will either need a new video card with a coaxial output or a some sort of aftermarket usb dongle.

elgato.com has great stuff for mac

I have a pretty neat setup, using this cheap card on my pc

Then I bought one of these later:

If I was doing it again, I would get this and be done with it:

The last option works like a tivo basically. you can run 2 coax inputs into it, watch one show while recording another, pause live tv etc.

yep elgato and or migalia are the way to go for the mac

If you're talking DVB, Hauppauge USB dongles come well recommended - they're cheap, wee and come with functionally useful software and are easy to set up.
I have a really old clunky model, which I occasionally use to record tv with and find it works fine.

In Japan they call them tv-boxes. Don't have to add shit to your computer, just a box sitting next to it hooked up to your antenna.
Quality is shit though.

i think neue thought we were talking about the band, tv on the radio
lmao
