Just got a Core Duo Intel iMac and the transition is far from smooth. The current frustration is that I've installed Final Cut Pro and everything opens (haven't stressed them yet) except for Motion, it crashes as soon as I try to start a new project. I'm going to crossgrade next month, is there anything I can do in the meantime?

That makes me a sad panda.

are you using Motion 2? Try downloading the latest update. 2.1.2
Motion should work on intels. Maybe you just had a glitch in the matrix.

Do these new fangled apple's actually run anything?
I see a lot of irony in their sales pitch.

i got to be honest moth, how do you have enough energy to hate on apple in *every* single apple thread that pops up? honestly. do you really have ground to stand on? having a desktop preference is clearly allowed, but to talk that much shit for no gain in anyway seems a little ill-focused.
just my 2 pence....

moth and i get along great- we have had many threads re: OS CMS development, etc so there is no animosity here. i only just noticed it this morning, hence why i wrote it.
if you are just being super-critical for their own good moth, so be it. just seems like (from way over here) that you got a bone to pick.
cheers.

he does have a point tho, the ad strapline is something like 'do more' yet most threads on here about em are bcos ppl are doing considerably less!

It's intriguing madirish.
I do have ground to stand on. I've spent nearly £9k on apple products this year. 3 Servers and 2 Minis - all pre-intel.Do I continue? I think it's madness that they've let things get this bad that their machines only run their own software.
I'll try to refrain next time...

moth- that's cool, please continue. i see your point that you have some money invested in them, but 'only run their own software"? i can definilty recommend some software that is not theirs but runs great on them...
again, just something i noticed. all entitled to their own opinions.
