Hello,
I've recently completed a website for a friend and I was hoping to get it as high up in the google rankings as possible. Its a combination of flash and HTML, so it should be fairly accessible. Is there a way of increasing your rank position? I hate that decent sites get pushed down because of some oddball talking about their obsession with cats or something :-)
Any ideas?
If anyones interested, here's the URL:
Thanks guys
Tom

i think ur chances would go up if other sites linked to ur page
may be if u dump the url in blogs/forums etc.. google spideys will catch it faster and when more pages link to urs itll be bumped up

I mean that excessive posting is bad, but a few times is cool. Try what brandelec suggested.

Hey Tommee! Nottingham eh? Snap.
I looked at your the source code of the site and it seems like you've covered the basics /essentials really thoroughly, meta tags and nice clean markup too, nice trick on the navigation too. Google will index that with ease... it just needs to find it, so as others suggested get it linked, which shouldn't be a problem. Try submitting to CSS showcase galleries, there are millions. Also, descriptive text links to it are key too. Only other thing you could possibly on the site itself is possibly drop some keywords in the title tag, try and string the most important words into a short summary / sentence. I've found that to be useful a few times, and it's no bad thing for a visitor anyway, helps describe the content of the site, etc.
Anyway, yeah, really nice work chap!

Thanks thismanslife!
Have just moved away from Notts (must update my bio) going travelling next week - which would probably make my location as 'no fixed abode'.
Anyways, thanks for the advice!
