Has anyone ever felt nauseous after viewing on a CRT monitor for any period of time.
Not sure how to remedy this issue, but I feel very nauseous, somewhat blurred vision, and it is very hard for me to focus.
Any, remedies would be appreciated. My settings are currently 1152 x 870 with a refresh rate of 75hertz.

75 Hertz is one of the reasons I don't work in one of my previous jobs anymore. Any CRT below 85Hz and your head explodes..

Suggestion then?
I can't take it and no one else is feeling like this.

Try running 1024x768@85Hz if you can't boost the frequency on your current res.
if your eyes feel better, it means you need a new monitor

So, I'm not crazy, and you have felt, nauseous - frontal lobe feels heavy and your eyes feel like they have been open for about 3 years straight?

Changed, my settings hopefully i notice a difference soon cuz I cannot concentrate at all.

You have to remember that you are watching straight int huge lamp that flickers. It's a killer. Sometimes my front lobe is so heavy and aches it's like Optimus Primus has shat on it.
But as i like hi-res screen and i'm running at 1600x1200 my ViewSonic can't go over 75. And if i use lover res my AE doesn't fit on my screen anymore. I badly need second monitor.

yeah, i'm running a viewsonic as well. I am able to run it at the 85 hz.
Have you found anything to help. Just curious as well, do either of you wear contact lenses?

(Oct 25 06, 06:07)That's right. My boss told me it was a perfect new monitor and all I could do was replace it with one of the older ones they had. The bastard kept buying the cheapest dell 17"s for webdesign work.
Not everyone was complaining though, and many of those people still work there..
I upped the freq on some peeps in the office monitors - they were designers and wouldn't know something could have been donewith their screens...new cheaper widescreen dell 20" LCD is coming, stripped out of usb ports - sounds promising

I found 2 solutions (outside upping the refresh freq):
- changed job to one where I was asked first what monitor I wanted (a dell ultrasharp lcd)
- bought a dell ultrasharp lcd for home
I used to hack a monitor into a higher freq with some video card overclocking software, but this rarely works and results are hardly noticeable

Contact lenses?
- rafalski0
no contacts, but I will say again, not everyone's eyes react the same to low refresh rate. some people seem ok with it.. or just keep their mouths shut about it ;)

I can go even higher than 85, do you think I will notice any difference in the way my screen performs if I do that?

once you start noticing the refresh rate you always will.
it will drive you crazy
buy a lcd

I always went for the highest rate on a CRT, unless it made the screen look blurry.
