Wow, you really are disillusioned. You are beyond wrong about anything I may have said. Flat friggin wrong. How about we look up the other thread? You're not even on it.
You think you're you're hurting my ego there buddy? You actually think i give two shits about yours or anyone else's opinion, that's not my client?
If you think that I do any design work to be innovative or interesting, you are fooling yourself. Go ahead and do a search of my threads and count how many times I have ever pushed my work, critiqued anyone else's in a malicious way, or even invited someone to my folio. I'll save you the time: It's never. Want to know why? I do not care, nor I am interested in being a big dick designer. Because the work I do is about selling shit for my client. And I am very fucking good at it.
You wanna know the emails I answered after your cute little musings today? They were to turn work down. Because I am booked through next year. Not with fancy work that no one in advertising cares about. But good solid consistent branding that wins bigger and better relationships and earns money.
You wanna know where I put my real efforts? In other mediums that I DID study for, earned accolades for, and care deeply about. And that I have been doing for over 25 years.
Here's why you REALLY have been dumb today:
You have no idea how many people on NT, myself included, are plugged into major international brands. You do not know. Now you've pissed a few people off with your attitude and lack of professionalism or polish. If you truly had anything to illuminate for me or anyone else, you wouldn't even be searching here the way you have.So as you suggested to me, why don't YOU go back to school. Oh wait, I figure you are about what? A sophmore now? STAY in school.

OK, wait.
I will be less silly here... I just love arguing with people sometimes but it is an extremely bad habit. It is also completely beside my original intent of finding a solid programmer to help me on this project which I might add again is NOT a ripoff scheme. I have worked so hard to get talented people on board (model, photographer, musician, stylist, etc) and until recently, I had an amazing programmer. He took on too many commitments, however, and I need somebody new.
So maybe I was taking out some of my frustrations on you people--sorry. The initial edgy tone of my message was not meant as an insult but rather as a bold challenge:
That is, who here has the skills and the character to help me get this thing done? WHo sees what I see?
I am not exploiting people here, unless I am also exploiting myself. I have sacrificed huge things to do this project ( I funded the entire thing on my own credit for chrissakes!). I operate differently from many of you in that sometimes I am just not practical...
However, the potential of using flash medium to capture fashion campaign dollars is HUGE.
So keep sending me e-mails if you would like to discuss.

harlequino, what you write about your work is right on and you're right to not let anyone piss on it.
great work isn't always sexy work, and sexy work doesn't always pay the bills. it's the balance that can be lovely :)
