Speaking of Mr. Carson's work....how much does a designer's personality affect your judgement of their work? Rick Poynor wrote recently about it being a total non-issue, the work is what matters when evaluating anything. But how much does a designer's warm/cold personality have an effect on you liking/hating what they do?

If I see work I don't like, and the person is an arsehole, I'm not bothered by this. But it is such a let down when I see work that I like and the person ends up being a total arsehole in the same way. I can never see their work in the same way, I don't think there is a big distinction between who we are and what we do so the two are married.
I'm not a huge fan of most of Milton Glaser's work, but the things he says are so fantastic that I always end up loving something I would otherwise simply just like.
