  My Mac:Word trial has run out apparently. I've got a copy of microsoft office on a cd, but without any kind of installer, and theres no way I can afford to actually buy office. Is there any free version of word around, or a way to install from that cd? Thanks

  Just drag the programs off of the CD and drop them in your 'Applications' folder. That should do the trick.
