Sometimes they are not forced to go outside and play at recess anymore. When I was younger we were only allowed inside when it was a certain temperature, like -35 and lower, which happened a few times a year. There was a creek that kids liked to push other kids into, so after that they changed the rule and nowadays no one is allowed too close to the creek. But it was fun because if you were bored you can examine the specimins living in it. Also, we attempted to make fire several times with our classes. I did it once and managed to set a small pile of leaves on fire. We also ate grass once because we were bored.

man we used to just run around with BB guns as a kid, not at school but on sthe streets. you would get in so much trouble for that now.

I had colecovision, that thing kicked the shit out of intellivision and atari

I was the only one on my block with lazertag.
I guess that made me the geek.
I loved Chinese handball though. In fact once I got into a heated game (in the 7th grade mind you) and my opponent sliced the ball at the wall and also made me run halfway across the court to hit it...well I ended up leaping horizontally with an outstretched hand to hit that ball...
Cut to: I hit the floor, and landed on my hip and ended up in the hospital with a bruised hip.
I was out of school for 2 weeks yo.

spin the bottle! whats wrong with you people
- Jaline0
spin the bottle was never played by my friends. we were between being popular and being good at school (not really nerds), so we got along with lots of people. But that also meant we didn't play the usual games unless we were asked by someone or forced to.

Played spin the bottle in the back of a church van on the way to a weekend skiing trip in 7th grade, with the pastor driving up front.
good times.

This is a funny thread, cuz my daughter is at that age when they start playing these sorts of games and asked me the same q just the other day...lets see...
Shoot an arrow straight up and each kid has a trashcan lid (back when they were all metal) lid and tries to "catch" the arrow. gawd, what were we thinking...
Prison Camp...nighttime game where everyone dresses in black and tries to make it through a ceratin path without being ID'd by the gurads using flashlights.
table coin hockey or basketball.
Red Rover...this one still gets played at recess in school here in Michigan...they also have outdoor recess unless the temp is below 0F (-18 C).
My favorite was bicycle games. We took our beater bikes and had smash up derbies in the courts (cul-de-sacs, whatevah) Twisted metal and bloodiy knees was the order of the day...Then there were the jumps, build a ramp and keep adding kids behind it until someone missess...
Whatever doesn't kill you...
Happy Friday all, I'm going out to the garage to weld some spikes onto my hubs...

Speaking of bb guns, one of my friends and I were using his bb pistol and bb rifle and having a war against each other once in camo in his awesome backyard, all kinds of things to hide behind, trees, a greenhouse, halfpipe, etc.
His dad catches us and got super mad, the whole "you're gonna shoot each other in the eye" stuff.
And my friend goes "we weren't aiming for the face, I swear!"
He got grounded for a week for that.

I used to shoot bottles behind my house when I was like 13. Right by the garbage cans, so the glass would just be broken by the garbage. Well my Mom made me go out there and clean up hundreds of broken bottles and a speck of glass landed directly on the white part of my eyeball and I had to pluck it out with a pair of tweezers. wow.

Yea in the pre-paintball daze we had three-pump-limit bb battles. The theme was capture the cooler. A colooer full of contraband beer was placed in a stream, each team started at the top of the embankment and winner took all...shit we were like 14...after about four trips to the ER to have bbs removed from various body parts (the ones we couldn't extract on site) the games were called off ...
imagine the unsuspecting dog walkers' faces running into a bunch of hopped-up teens wrapped in duct tape and cardboard screamin throgh the woods with air rifles...
good times for sure.

Pickle... Something about bases and throwing a tennis ball.
