are you going to visit tikal? i highly recommend it, even though that's where i saw the most of my hairy 8-legged friends.
the people are quite nice and the local food is great. make sure you get all your vaccinations :)

my friend just cam e from a 2 month centrral am. trek, he really liked Guat. and honduras. The only places that were considered expensive in C.Amer. were CostaR. and Salvador.
