were you cheering my 600th post here or were you hoping to achieve that? :P

how long do writers spend developing and planning out a show like this?
- cacoe0
somewhere around 24 mins and 18 seconds.

Did anyone else see that Nathan's election posters said, "For a Better Tomorrow" at the top?
LOL.

what i really don't understand is no one is stepping up going 'wow, i have this amazing ability, i need to show the world i'm a superhero' and start a traveling band or something saving lives. why the seclusion and ideology that they are different in a bad way. haven't they ever read a comic book?!? people with powers fuckin rule!

(May 8 07, 10:29)I know what you mean. I'm guessing that having those abilities only complicates one's life a lot more in reality, especially on TV to make it more interesting and angsty. The people who don't have powers are the ones who are more interested in saving the world or helping people, like Bennett and Mohinder. The closest you will get to someone who truly wants to save the world right now is Hiro. And then Peter.

I read an interview with one of the creators and he said they'll tie up this story line (Save the Cheerleader/Save the World) at the end of the season and start a whole new storyline in the Fall...
Smart idea...

(May 8 07, 10:35)Many television shows are now wrapping up major story arcs within one season so that the mysteries don't go on forever and ever and turn off viewers. As long as the writers can keep coming out with great stuff (which I'm sure they can in this show) then doing a one-season story arc is a great idea.
-----------------------------
If you come up with a bunch of super powers... even if you REALLY REALLY think about it.. you will probably always come up with stuff that has already been done in one way or another. They show has a totally different feel to it than anything else in it's genre and imo isn't comparable at all...
cacoe
(May 8 07, 12:06)Exactly. I mentioned this before. It's very difficult to come up with completely new super powers and keep the show interesting and have the characters useful all at the same time.

(May 8 07, 12:11)Basically, you have to have some genius writers who plan most of the main plot lines out way ahead of time so that different storylines can intertwine in an interesting manner. Heroes has amazing writers. I have always wondered this about many great shows myself.

Mama Petrelli is pretty damn good at manipulating people already. She doesn't need any powers ;)
Hiro can basically do anything. What I mean is, by having the ability to stop time and then teleport away, he can
go anything and get away with it. For example, if he were evil or coerced he could also rig the election by stopping
time and then changing the ballots or something.I think ender is right about Linderman being really old. I'm guessing that he heals
or re-grows himself whenever something goes wrong (if it ever does) but he isn't fast enough to stop aging.

I agree that the D.L / Jessica / Micah storyline was pretty useless in this episode. Although it's probably better than them explaining the entire thing next episode or have them miss a huge chunk of the story and leave the viewers clueless as to what happened to Micah while he was waiting with Candice.
Last time there was a continuity problem with D.L. finding out that Niki was actually Jessica - except they never showed it to us. So everyone just had to put 2 and 2 together while the scene where D.L. confronts Jessica about taking Micah and leaving is played out. I know that many viewers were confused.
Anyway, back to Candice and Micah. That scene also served to further reveal the abilities that Candice has. Not sure if it's necessary, but it was cool.
I do agree that it was really boring and didn't lead anywhere, but I'm guessing that all of this is leading to multiple fights, including one with D.L., Jessica, Micah, and Linderman.

sooo... i just read a good portion of this thread... and man - ya'll went way too deep for me and I can't keep up w/all the conversations...
... I really don't know what to expect w/the finale - i mean... one way or another - it's all going to 'make sense' and fit...
... but there are so many 'theories' I have that I think I'm going to switch this show 'off' in my head and just wait for the next episode(s) on Monday.
Again... very enjoyable... the hour flies by so lovingly fast too... :)

FRYING MAN!!!!

Gotta agree there, I think this is the kind of show to stop thinking about about until it's on.
Besides, its not really a mystery show anyway, anything could happen.

Linderman is like a mix between Apocalypse and Mr. Sinister... unless a new character arises to take up the mantle of the former by genetically altering/making sure Micah happened.
Kind of like Age of Apocalypse, and a bit of Days Futures Past going on these past few.

Mr. Isaac according to Hiro = Mystery Sock

I wish I had the power to make food.
All I have is rice and peanut butter, haha.
- Jaline0
Have the power to have the talent to make anything, or have any food appear in front of you right away?
- ********0
The latter; madirish has the former, haha.
Actually that talent would be lame on second thought, haha.
- johndiggity0
how will the paper star stop sylar? that was the most interesting part of this week's episode imo.
- Jaline0
flavor, madirish is who I was thinking of when posting part of that hehe :)
john, I think it's more like the little girl believes in that star as good luck, kind of how people have charms and just things they believe in whenever they survive or get past hardship. But maybe there is more to it. I actually thought she would have the ability to stop other heroes' abilities from working (like the kid in X-Men), but I guess not.

(May 8 07, 19:06)So long as it's edible right?
So I can crush my foes with 15 tonnes of shrimp, or when I've had practise with my power I can make popping candy appear in every single one of a person's orifices.

You could solve the world’s hunger problems!
Or get bloody stinking rich in the process and help no one except your bank account.

P.S. Did anyone catch the kind of similarities between Nathan and Rudy Giulanni?
