so i have a psd with transparency laid over another graphic element on my page, and when i print it a lighter-colored square surrounds the transparent element, the same size as the bounding box of said element, affecting the lightness of the element beneath it.
kinda like it would if my transparent portions weren't completely transparent (but they are, i checked).
it shows up fine on-screen, it only happens when i print it.
anyone have any experience with this and/or have a simple solution?

what is the resolution of the transparency set to in the print dialog box? You get these issues when printing with lo-res transparency outta illy or indd.

(Oct 3 06, 11:52)awww, thanks gruntt.
Did you put a drop shadow on the PS file? Is it a tif or an actual .psd? When you print, what is your Transparency Flattener set at (under Advanced)? Does this typeface make me look fat?

depends how you're printing it too... printing from a PDF produces different results.
you'll need your topmost layers to be your non-transparent elements and your bottom most layers (unless they're integral to the design) should be your transparency.
