I got the 15" 2.0 back in May and I LOVE it so much faster then my old pbook. Its a good choice.
I took it traveling for 3 months and didnt have any problems with it at all.

I have a 2GHz 2GB BlackBook. I am a mac newbie, so I don't know what blazing fast is in mac terms. The system is a tad sluggish at times, but I hear it's an OSX thing. Adobe/Macromedia progs are unacceptably (for me) slow, especially when used together. 3 of them at a time can even freeze the system. They do crash from time to time, or make the system so slow it needs restarting.
I never installed the firmware update that turns the fans on at all times, I don't care about the computer getting hot, I hate fan noise.
To avoid shutdowns (have been getting them for some time) I have to boot the computer in 1GHz mode. Strange, cause the shutdowns don't seem to be overheating related - they often happen at boot time.I am getting a mini now before sending the laptop to apple, cause they're known to be slow in Ireland and I need a mac/win machine.
When fixing it, they sure will install the fan spinning firmware update. I will probably sell the macbook when it's fixed and get another one when they learn how to make them properly.
It's a nice computer after all and I really like it, even when it's hard to :)

I have the 17"mbp with the glossy screen. I was worried I'd regret the glossy, but now I don't think I could ever go back. So pretty...

Yeah, mayo,
I got the glossy too. A good idea. So sharp and nice. Richer colors.

Much much richer colors, yes, digitalswarm. I was scared glare would be a problem, but not at all.

That's what everyone was saying the drawback was... "If you're in the right lighting..."
It rocks.

really? Glossy? isnt it less color accurate? does your eyes bleed after some long periode of work? I need to upgrade my book soon also and I didnt even think gething a glossy one.

the gloss is one of the reasons I won't miss it so much when I sell it.
