Is it really worth £300/$300 to have the Apple store fit another 1GB memory module or should I just buy it seperately and do it myself?
Found this but not sure of quality but at $130+tax it's a damn sight cheaper...

its worth it if the memory messes up your computer. the apple memory is warranteed, third party memory is not.
your decision.

I bought some Ram from Best Buy and it works real slick. Better than paying 600 dollars. Make sure to push those sticks in HARD or you'll be scratching your head just like I did.

i always get my ram from crucial
http://www.crucial.com/uk/and install it myself real simple

I got 2GB from a third party and it made a huge difference in the performance of my MBP. At least CS2 started working better.

You shouldn;t buy anything and buy the Core 2 chips when they come out in a few weeks.

We're switching you to Buffalo Coffee Kona. (Cafe con Hashish)

haha kona...
any decent thirdparty ram has a lifetime warr. As long as the specs match it will work.
check the mac ram sites for what they are selling (http://www.ramjet.com is 1) and then just look around. I always find newegg.com has good deals and you can't beat their cust. service
