I have a friend (bro deal!) that runs a production company and he wanted me to design a package to deliver his DVD director's reel and some sales material in a non-traditional format.
I showed him JewelBoxing and he thought it was too plain. Any suggestions on where I should begin to look?
He wants to keep production costs somewhat low, so I was thinking of something like 5inch or Jewelboxing but more experimental and easy to mass produce.
thanks in advanced!

why not print on heavy papr/cardboard and do some interesting folding? i have seen some quite amazing ones..
at the NAI (architecture museum netherlands) they sold a series of japanese books (forgot the name, sorry!) with hundreds and hundreds of packaging templates, all original and different. i believe it even contained cd-roms with eps files.
so maybe you should look for something like that..
